# TITHING, 7th -May – 2023 (Sunday Night)
Do you know how the financial systems of both the heaven and earth operate? Child of God, you don’t give a 10% of your income to God.
How many know that God is your Father? So, by faith you came into His family through the blood of Jesus. And by hope, you are expecting Him to bless you. By love you love Him and He loves you too [John 3:16].
The issue is God wants to bless you that when you wake up in the morning, you’re loaded but the problem is that you are here on the earth. Everywhere you go, there are restrictions and hinderance. God never put them in place, but we did through sin and disobedience. We were not meant to be broke. We were not supposed to die. We were created to live for all eternity. We were made in the image of God [Genesis 1:27].
When man disobeyed God, we were kicked out of abundance and thrown on earth (the ground) where we must sweat [Genesis 3:23-24]. If we don’t sweat, we can’t eat [Genesis 3:19]. As a result, we have to work, and we have to look for a blessing.
God did not curse us, but He curse the ground. So, the earth (the ground) has a curse. What you put in the ground is not what you get out of it. The earth has thrones. As soon as you get money, your child gets sick, and the money is gone. As soon as you make some money, your mother gets into trouble, and you have to help her. No matter how much you work or invest in the ground, you don’t get back things as expected. As a result, you work hard but never satisfied.
Others, you’re educated and beautiful, but you can’t get jobs. So, what do you do? Do you commit suicide? No. You listen to the devil, man and God who gives you the best offer. God says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest [Matthew 11:28]. The devil says, bow down and worship me then I will give you [Matthew 4:9]. Man says, if you do what I say, you will be okey. Which of the three would you follow? The One who is coming to lift your burdens, the one who wants to command you to do what he wants, or the one who wants to manipulate you? Which of the three would you take?
Jesus said, learn from me [Matthew 11:29]; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly [John 10:10]. So, we go with Jesus. When you go with Jesus, you begin to realize that He is the Son of God. He was there in the begin, and without Him nothing was made [John 1:1-3].
People who managed to get to Jesus, poverty left them sooner or later, because Jesus is the One who said in Luke 4:18, The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. What is the good news to the poor? That NO MORE POVERTY. Let the poor say, I am rich.
Declare: I am rich.
So, how do you become rich? Malachi 3:10. He say, Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse… because you have been stealing from Me. God is asking where His tithe (10%) is. He says, He doesn’t want your 90%. And He said, if you do, He will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
He also says in Malachi 3:11, “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes.” We don’t give money to please God, but Him to help us. It is for us. It is like paying taxes in government. Taxes help us construct roads, provide medicine to hospitals, pay civil servants like police, army… think about it, if both the police and the army quit today, what will happen. Your enemy will cut off your ears. Sometimes, we don’t do things to look good but to survive.
When we pay our tithes, the LORD opens up the windows of heaven because the ground is cursed, and you need the heaven’s blessing.
Child of God, no matter how little you have, start tithing; on your a thousand (1000) take off a hundred (100). We all started small, and we are no longer there. We have seen the goodness of the Lord upon our lives because of obedience. The bible says, If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: [Isaiah 1:19]. What causes poverty to stick on us is stubbornness and not introducing God in our lives.
There is no reason why a Ugandan should be poor. Probably there are demons and the devil. There is a way that makes us poor. The only way as believers God is going to prosper us is to believe Him and His word. Therefore, you start where you are at your level. Once God gives you money, take off the tithe, however small or big it is. The bible says in Luke 16:10, He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much. And where the LORD will take you, you shall tell the story.
