Today’s Message: SOWING
I want to share with you a scripture from 2 Corinthians chapter 9 which I have used around the world. Wherever we go, I teach the SAME message and we don’t change the word. The word of God is so power, and we impart the word of God in the lives of the people. We don’t change God’s word to places where we go to because people are poor, the word is the SAME, whether people are poor or rich.
The word of God is what brings about transformation in people’s lives.
In 2 Corinthians 9:6 [AMPC], [Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [[a]that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings. When we first started out, we had a call of God to go to the whole world, but as I jokingly say, we were so poor, and no one paid attention. We were poor people and the poor called us poor. We were so poor that the cockroaches came to our house and went on a forty day fast. We were so poor that we couldn’t afford a dog, we used to go outside and buck. We used to take turns with my wife to buck… we were so poor that we used to go to KFC to lick other people’s fingers.
The reason I share this stuff with you is because people think that it is easy for us to talk. I have been there, in that same situation where you are. Some people say that they want to come to America because money is there, and I tell them, “Please don’t come”. Many people in America don’t have money because we are helping American ministers. Wealth doesn’t have to do with where you live. This has got to do with the word of God which has become alive in the inside of you, and you must grab and take hold of it.
This is so important, and you who are seated here today, God is going to do great things for you, but if your eyes are not on Him, but on money, people, and you don’t realize that you have ALL the help called the Holy Ghost, who will help you as He has helped me, and this is what I am going to teach about in these three days.
How is it possible that we came to ten countries in Africa, and yet we paid for everything before we left America? Is it because the LORD loves us more than anybody else? NO! It is because the word became alive in the inside of us! I know people here pray a lot, but let me tell you, prayer is not the only thing to do; I know of people who pray a lot and yet they have nothing… You have to receive the WORD and the SPIRIT.
That is why he says here, “he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly.” What does he talk about? Attitude and Measure. If you use a small measure and your attitude is wrong, then you will receive little measure and the attitude you will receive is wrong. But “he who sows generously [[a]that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.” See what he says here in verse 7, Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He [b]takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving].
Verse 8, And God is able to make all grace (every favor and [c]earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need [d]be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. There are many people who use this excuse “I don’t have what to give”, and they never do anything. But the bible says in verse 10, And [God] Who provides seed for the sower. Meaning that even if you don’t have seed, but when you pray, God will give you a seed. You can say, what if I sow it, what am I going to eat? I can’t give everything away. God will provide bread for eating and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [[e]which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity]. Verse 11, Thus you will be enriched in all things and in every way. This is what God wants everybody to be.
I pray that this group of people here today will be the most generous in the nation of Uganda.
The scripture says, if you can’t be trusted with unrighteous mammon then who will trust you with the true riches? [Luke 16:11]. Everyone wants the anointing, but they are not faithful with the tangible things. Jesus said, if you can’t be trusted with unrighteous mammon, then who will entrust you with the true riches? There’s a link. You can’t buy the anointing, its FREE, but there are spiritual principles involved.
Cont. verse 11, so that you can be generous, and [your generosity as it is] administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God. Verse 12, For the service that the ministering of this fund renders does not only fully supply what is lacking to the saints (God’s people), but it also overflows in many [cries of] thanksgiving to God. Verse 13, Because at [your] standing of the test of this ministry, they will glorify God for your loyalty and obedience to the Gospel of Christ which you confess, as well as for your generous-hearted liberality to them and to all [the other needy ones]. Verse 14, And they yearn for you while they pray for you, because of the surpassing measure of God’s grace (His favor and mercy and spiritual blessing which is shown forth) in you. Verse 15, Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]!
As I conclude this text: You can let this be announced to yourself today, and you can say this with your mouth, “From this day, the 10th day of October, on this Tuesday, I am a generous giver. I am not stingy; I do what the Lord tells me to do. I don’t sow sparingly, and I don’t sow grudgingly; I give with a glad heart, and Lord, your word declares that if I sow generously, the blessings will come to me, and I will reap generously and with blessings. I trust you; it is your word, and you watch over your word to perform it [Jeremiah 1:12], and from this day, I see blessings and provision flooding my life.” People are going to look at me and they will shake their heads, and say, I don’t understand…what happened? What changed? How come you are so blessed? And I will say, “something happened on the inside of me”.
