#Desire Dream and Destiny Book|| chpt-2
We have been studying the power to desire from my book #Desire Dream and Destiny. We discovered that in order for our desires to be fulfilled, we must delight ourselves in the Lord who is the giver of those desires. Today, I want us to focus on the Positive Desire.
In the previous text we saw Jacob, a man who had positive desire to marry Rachel that he ended up working for 14years to get the desire of his heart [Genesis 29:20-30]. Jacob wanted to be prosperous, so he looked and judged between Leah and Rachel. He decided that if he were to marry Rachel, they would be successful in life; they would build up a powerful team.
Positive desire sees the end from the beginning and it must not choose from the entire village, but from the same home. What I mean is that it has to be from a source which is good, great or the greatest and not from sources that are bad or mediocre. If your desire is going to be very effective, you must have the ability to choose very well because no one is going to do it for you. YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE CHOICE YOURSELF; YOU HAVE TO DESIRE IT, NAME IT AND CLAIM IT. In addition, through your hard work, sweat, prayer and dedication you will get your desire fulfilled. Once you locate your desire, do not compromise, just pay the price to get it. Leave the company of talkers and become a doer. I believe there were so many eligible young men around Laban’s household, but they failed to pay the price to get either of the girls.
James 1:25 reads, But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. Jacob knew that he was now in Laban’s household and had been sent there by Mom and Dad. He found two women; one of them could achieve things very easily, but the other one had great difficulty in achieving things though both depended on God. For both women, at the end were capable of achieving greatness. Therefore, to choose from such a scenario you must see between the lines, and if you’re in the same homestead, you have to choose one instead of the other. The bible says; And when the LORD saw that Leah [was] hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel [was] barren [Genesis 29:31]. Though Leah was hated, she kept her delight in the LORD and as a result, she generated enough power to bring forth in a very hateful situation. Jacob, her husband, together with her sister Rachel hated her, but the Lord opened her womb.
As I conclude this text: it does not matter which circumstances you are faced with right now, delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart [Psalm 37:4].
