# ANOINTING, 10th -May – 2023 (Mid-week Service)

We have been talking about the ANOINTING and how it makes the big difference. As a believer, you must take your position. We saw Jacob how the enemy wanted to take away his blessing of Abraham.

Look at this. In the New Testament, Jesus said, You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, [John 15:16]. Now, in the Old Testament, the bible says, the LORD appeared to Abraham and He said… It was not Abraham who was looking for God, but it was God who looked for Abraham. Abraham never woke up to go and look for God; God is the One who choose him. Genesis 18:1, And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day.

Why the LORD? Of these three, God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit who is the LORD? Jesus is the LORD. God is the ALMIGHTY. So, every time you come across the word “the Lord”, Jesus was appearing. It is only Jesus who can give redemption. He is the one who bridges man to God. So, it was Jesus though in the Old Testament, he wasn’t called Jesus. He appeared to Abraham and He revealed everything to Him, even to the extent that He came and gave him bread and wine. Jesus is the one who gives bread and wine, not God Almighty.

Genesis 14:18, Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. We know that the High priest of the Most High is Jesus. He gave Abraham bread and wine. In the New Testament in Matthew 26:26, And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. [27], And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; [28], For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. It is Jesus who gave Abraham bread and wine, and he also gave the disciples bread and wine. So, you see the connection of Jesus in Abraham’s life and in the New Testament. Luke 22:19-20 [CEV], Jesus took some bread in his hands and gave thanks for it. He broke the bread and handed it to his apostles. Then he said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Eat this as a way of remembering me!” [20] After the meal he took another cup of wine in his hands.

So, that tells you that the disciples didn’t choose Jesus. Abraham did not choose God, but He chose him. Why does He choose you? We are all here because we accepted Jesus, but He first called us. What qualifies us if we are chosen? Ephesians 1:4, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. So, He choose us knowing that we are capable of being holy or righteous. You were chosen so that He can give you righteousness. We are chosen to be like Him. God is Holy [1 Peter 1:15].

“To be Holy means you are minus the devil.”

To be holy means to be god: to be like God. To be like God means you have Jesus. To have Jesus means you are minus Satan. Satan is the one who brings sin which means, there’s no sin, iniquity, evil, poverty, lack, jealousy, worry, fear, and malice in your life.1 Peter 1:15, Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. God gave Abraham righteousness [Genesis 15:6], and righteousness is an anointing of God because it is produced by the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, He fills you and takes what Jesus has and gives it to you. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. In whatever dealings, there must be holiness of God, at home, work, and church. You are holy like God, and you are in charge. You are the head and not the tail [Deuteronomy 28:13]. You are rich and not poor. You are healthy. You decree things and they are established [Job 22:28].

“To be holy means to be in charge.”

In every conversation, its God working through you. I declare, we are going to demonstrate and manifest God in every area of our lives; in our children and whatsoever we do. People are going to see the glory of God on you. Why? Philippians 2:13, For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. It is God working in you and not you working… From today, as the anointing comes, God is going to work through you.

Allow God to work and be holy. So, what is his good pleasure? Prosperity is His good pleasure. He has pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. So, God wants you to prosper. Psalm 35:27, Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. Because you have allowed God’s prosperity and favour to be in you, shout for Joy.

The choice of God which is giving you righteousness and holiness is the anointing. You choose you to be holy, and now you are holy and righteous, you keep on shouting for joy and magnifying the Lord because he has pleasure in the prosperity of his servants.

This is how this anointing works. He chooses you; He calls you to be righteous and holy, and once righteousness and holiness sets in, you are now anointed to work like God. And God doesn’t FAIL. He is now at work in you, and you are prospering in everything.

Job 36:11,  If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. How do we serve Him? We magnify Him. We stay holy and righteous. No longer will the world be more prosperous than us. This anointing is a higher calling in God. You raise up at God’s level. You live minus Satan. You become a great innovator like God. He innovated the eco system. For us to be like Him, its like we have taken up His character, nature, ability, state… His knowledge and wisdom is in us. His way of doing things is now ours. We are His ambassadors [2 Corinthians 5:20].

May the joy of the Lord continue in your life. for the joy of the Lord is your strength [Nehemiah 8:10]. I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth [Psalm 34:1]. To have the anointing of God is when He takes over everything such that once you stand, the devil is a million miles away.

Where God is, there’s abundance. There is fulness of joy because the joy is of the Lord. Psalms 16:11, Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Where the Joy of the Lord is, there is prosperity because there is holiness.
